Women CAZOVA – Day Four

Nassau, The Bahamas, August 19 – Former queens and arch rivals Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados took the direct route to the semifinals of the 19th CAZOVA Senior Championship, being played at the Kendal GL Isaacs National Gymnasium.

Barbados topped Group C with a dismissal of Suriname 25-23, 25-16, 25-19 thanks to the hitting of captain Ashley Jordan and professional player Shonte Seale. Inconsistent attacks from Suriname and too many service errors hurt their chances of stopping the Bajans.

Later in the night cap game, T&T made light work of Guadeloupe 25-15, 25-14, 25-18 with the Twin Island Republic girls topping Group D with a 2/0 record. Guadeloupe could not match the attacking force of T&T, who will now get an off day like Barbados.

In Group C, Barbados finished ahead of defending champions Jamaica and Suriname. While in Group D, T&T led Guadeloupe and host nation The Bahamas. Jamaica will battle The Bahamas for a semifinal spot while Guadeloupe will face Suriname.
